July 19, 2005 On July 19, the Islamic regime of Iran publicly executed two young gay men in Mashad according to a communiqué published by the Young Communists Organisation of the Worker-communist Party of Iran. They were only identified by their initials, M.A. and A.M. Gay sex is an executable offense under Islamic law. According to the YCO, the Islamic Republic has once again committed another inhuman and detestable crime and must be condemned. Its communiqué reads: 'The
Islamic Republic of Iran which is faced with its most decisive
crisis tends to show its antihuman capacity to terrify the
people who have risen up against it. The YCO calls upon
all youth and people of Iran and the world, all progressive
and humanitarian organisations and people to actively protest
the barbarity of the Islamic Republic.' |
